Coated paper on mat board. 7″x5″
Here’s another piece I’ll add to my Etsy shop sometime today or tomorrow. And now it’s time to get back to collaging so I’ll have something to post tomorrow.
And this is the last one of the series. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving, take care!
I’m taking a night class in graphic design and for our next class, our assignment is to create four images that reflect the four seasons based on color scheme and/or subject matter. I decided to do coffee and tea for my series. We have to use color packets of coated paper for the project, so I’m in my comfort zone since the project involves collaging, however, I’m not accustomed to using plain paper. This piece is the first one I completed in the series–the cool colors and the steam represent the coldness of winter.
I’ve been quite busy these days. I’m working on the paper work for a jurying process for the possibility of having a solo exhibition as well as getting last minute things squared away for Art on the Avenue. Hopefully I can start working on artwork like crazy in a couple of weeks.
I saw these funny looking flowers in the butterfly garden on the mall in Washington, D.C., and I thought I’d do a collage of them. For my next piece, I think I’ll create another animal collage.
Here’s a quick, kind of abstract collage I just finished.
I just finished this mini-flower collage. I’m working on a bunch of projects all at once, so hopefully I’ll have something completed by tomorrow–but if not, you’ll know what I’ll be doing–busy collaging. Today I also got started on making sketches for a commissioned piece of a dog, and a couple of days ago I got started on another fairly large portrait.
Here’s the sunflower collage I finished.
