Another day, another collage.
With this particular collage, I was interested in making the piece look like the viewer’s walked into the same room where the sitter is. Perhaps they interrupted them while they were in the middle of a book? I like making narrative scenes, partially because they’re fun to make, mainly because different viewers can come up with so many different storylines or ideas of what’s going on in a scene.
Anyway, this week I’m going to try to finish another figurative piece and hopefully get started on a few more mini collages.
If they walk into the room to sit on the other chair they will trip over her leg 🙂
I really like this one.
I like it.
Hi Megan- So nice to have new people stop in. I’m glad you found me and thanks for the kind words.
Your collages are so unique and well crafted. How long have you been working in this medium? I love your color too…some of the images depending on how far the picture are taken look like paintings…especially those buttons. Love it! I see that you have a lot of figurative work…I enjoy painting and drawing the figure. It’s been a while but I’m getting back into it. I created a blog with a friend that shows our figurative work…it’s fairly new http://www.figurativelyspeakingfor2.blogspot.com/ Anyways, I’ll be coming back to check out more of your stuff. Take care!
Thanks, Julissa!
I’ve been working in this medium for quite a while, although I started really getting into it about three years ago.
such a treat to find you! i love your technique & espec. love this collage…everything about it! the colors, feeling, material, narrative,…really i am crazy about what comes out of your hand & heart!
i think this is one of my favorites of yours so far, megan, and i love that you’ve shared questions about what the girl is doing in this picture. the expressions and intents of the people in your pieces are so intriguing that the stories become just as compelling as the skill that you use to create them. i think it’s a unique strength of yours.
LOVE the reading room!
You’ve definitely succeeded – I feel like I’ve walked in the room! I can sense the carpet texture and chair pattern.
this is beautiful! so detailed and peaceful.
