Bosty goes to Portland, OR

Bosty heard about Portland’s slogan, “Keep Portland Weird,” and wanted to check out this artsy West Coast city for the first time. He started off his trip by stopping by a lookout that had a beautiful view of the city.

He was feeling pretty hungry, so he decided to stop by Voodoo Doughnut.

He picked out a couple of fancy doughnuts to fuel him for all the walking and hiking he was planning to do.

He loved the beautiful trails he got to check out, especially all the waterfall sightings. He had to get his picture taken at Bridal Veil Falls.

The landscape was just so green and beautiful! He definitely wants to visit again to hike even more trails. There just wasn’t enough time in the day to see everything he wanted to see.

The next day, Bosty decided to spend the day at the Portland Art Museum. He loves modern art, and loved wandering around the galleries.

And after spending a couple of hours in the museum, he wandered around the city some more.

He wound up at the rose garden where he loved smelling the roses and admiring all the different types of roses on display. His trip was over too soon, but he really enjoyed his time in Portland and can’t wait to visit the city again.

Bosty goes to Monterey, CA

Bosty recently decided to visit the West Coast for a few days. He’d heard great things about the beaches in Monterey, so he decided to take a look for himself. He spent a good amount of time walking on the beaches, admiring the beautiful ocean.

But sometimes, he needed a break from all that sun, so he also swung by the Monterey Bay Aquarium a couple of times.

He loved taking a look at all the different fish.

Especially some of the creatures that would have scared him if he came face-to-face with them in nature – like this school of jellyfish!

And before he left, he had to stop by the otter exhibit to say “hello.” Otters do look a lot like sea dogs…

For the remainder of the trip, he explored different beaches. Some were sandy, while others were rocky, perfect for tide-pooling. He had so much fun finding crabs and small fish in the puddles of ocean water.

He even got to see sea lions sunbathing on rocks by the ocean.

Overall, Bosty enjoyed exploring a new area in California and getting to see some wildlife – both in an aquarium and in the wild.

Bosty goes to Denver, CO

Bosty really wanted to do some hiking in the Rockies so he went to Denver, CO the other day. He loved the view of all the mountains and trees.

After hiking, he headed over to the Denver Art Museum to take a look at the work of some local and international artists. There’s nothing quite like getting an art fix for the day!

Later he stopped by an alpaca farm to make some new friends.

He did some exploring outside of the farm and really enjoyed seeing all the red rocks accenting the hilly countryside.

Next, he wanted to make some more animal friends by visiting the Denver Zoo.

He wandered around quite a few of the exhibits, but one of his favorites was saying “hi” to the giraffes.

And he finished his trip by saying “hello” to all the birds. He especially liked the colorful flamingoes. Once he finished strolling around the zoo, he headed home. He definitely wants to visit again sometime, perhaps when there’s snow on the ground?

Bosty goes to Vancouver, Canada

Over the summer, Bosty checked out Vancouver for the first time. He’s always wanted to visit since he hasn’t spent too much time and Canada, and he really enjoyed exploring a new city.

He spent a lot of time wandering around the streets and admiring the architecture. The tall buildings reminded him of New York City.

He even ventured out in nature to take a look at the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. It wasn’t too crowded either, and he loved seeing how green all the trees and plants were!

Later in the week, he wanted to browse the stands at the Granville Island Public Market. He loved seeing how colorful all the fresh produce was.

He also liked how Granville Island had lots of art studios and plenty of art and crafts to peruse and buy. Bosty likes supporting local artists!

He of course had to stop by Stanley Park to see the beautiful and intricate totem poles. He liked all the detailing and colorful expressions.

Stanley Park had so many beautiful flowers, plants, and trees. Bosty enjoyed taking in the sites of nature.

And he had to take in the views of Prospect Point Lookout. Overall, he really enjoyed all the art and nature in Vancouver. He can’t wait to visit again, and he’s also excited to start exploring other cities in Canada.

Bosty goes to Seattle, WA

It’s been a while since Bosty has gone on any adventures. He recently moved to NYC, and thought he’d head over to the West Coast for a bit of a break from the city. Seattle sounded like a fun place to explore.

He started off doing some goat yoga in the morning in Snohomish, just outside of Seattle.

Bosty heard great things about the national parks nearby, so he decided to take a look at Mount Rainier National Park. There were so many large fir trees in the park. Bosty couldn’t get over how green everything was – no wonder they call Seattle the Emerald City!

The park had quite a few beautiful waterfalls.

Bosty’s favorite part about Mount Rainier National Park was getting to hike in the snow around Mount Rainier. What a beautiful mountain!

The next day, Bosty wanted to check out more of the city. His first stop? The Chihuly garden and glass museum.

Bosty couldn’t stop looking at all of Chihuly’s beautiful, bright glass sculptures. He was feeling very inspired by all the artwork!

Next, Bosty strolled around the Public Market and made sure he got some very touristy snapshots of himself in front of various landmarks.

Some people might think the Gum Wall is gross, but Bosty thought it looked beautiful – just look at all those colors!

He decided to swing by the Seattle Aquarium to admire all the underwater creatures.

And he had to take a look at the first Starbucks, so he could get another touristy picture.

He ended his adventures at Kerry Park, where he could get a great view of the city’s skyline with the iconic Space Needle. Bosty had so much fun getting to know such a beautiful and green city.

Bosty goes to Chincoteague, VA

Bosty wanted to get away for the weekend, but didn’t feel like traveling too far away from DC, so he decided to visit Chincoteague in Virginia. Chincoteague Island is in Virginia’s Eastern Shore, and is known for its beaches and wild ponies.

Aside from bird watching by the shore, Bosty also did some strolling along the beach.

And when he grew tired of the sandy beaches, he decided to watch the kayakers before doing some kayaking of his own.

He was only able to see some of the wild ponies from a great distance away, so for all his touristy pictures, he had to pose alongside a horse at one of the local farms.

During Bosty’s last night in Chincoteague, it got really foggy outside. He thought it looked almost like an enchanted storybook when he wandered around the town.

Bosty visits the Cherry Blossoms in DC

Earlier this month, Bosty had a chance to check out the cherry blossoms in Washington, DC during their peak bloom.

It was a dreary and cold day, but Bosty still had fun checking out the views of the Jefferson Memorial by the Tidal Basin.

He liked taking a few pictures in different angles before exploring other areas where the cherry blossoms were blooming.

He especially liked the trees by the Washington Monument, and how a few of them had kites caught in their branches from the Blossom Kite Festival.

Although it had been a chilly day, he thoroughly enjoyed getting to see those beautiful flowers while they were still in bloom.

Bosty goes to Tampa, FL

Bosty wanted to take a break from the grind of city life, and spend some time lounging by the beach. So we jetted off to Tampa, Florida to do just that.

He had a lot of fun walking down the beach, searching for seashells and hoping to find shark teeth that had been washed ashore.

He was fascinated with the palm trees in the area since they are so different than any of the trees back home.

Bosty loved how beautiful the sky and water looked during different times of day, like early in the morning, and when the sun would set at the end of the day.

And after a relaxing trip of sunbathing and splashing in the ocean’s waves, Bosty wanted to end the trip by admiring one last vacation sunset.

Bosty goes to Harry Potter World

Bosty is actually a pretty big fan of the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, so the other day he went on a weekend trip to Harry Potter World in Orlando, Florida. He loved visiting their recreation of Hogsmeade.

And had to stop by Honeydukes to get some chocolate frogs.

Next, he wanted to go to Hogwarts to wait in line for one of the Harry Potter themed rides.

Afterwards, we headed to the Hogsmeade train station to catch the Hogwarts Express to the other end of the theme park.

He really enjoyed all the recreated storefronts like Screed and Sons.

And what do you know? They even had the Knight Bus that visitors could pose in front of!

Before ending the day of wandering all around the park and waiting in line for different rides, Bosty wanted to take a look at their recreation of Diagon Alley.

One of his favorite parts of Diagon Alley, was getting to see the dragon that actually breathed fire every few minutes.

It was definitely a fun day, filled with strolling by beautiful recreations of settings from the books, popping into magical shops, and getting a quick thrill from theme park rides.

Bosty goes to Montreal

Bosty wanted to escape the winter in Washington, DC, so he jetted off to…Montreal, Canada. I suppose he wanted to swap one cold winter for a colder one. Anyway, he decided to spend a weekend exploring the streets and running through the snow.

He also really enjoyed a lot of the street art in the area. Even though it was his first time to the city, he decided to admire the overall environment instead of playing tourist the entire time.

Murals even caught his eye at night when he strolled through the snowy streets.

He loved seeing all the night lights, especially ones that were strung across the street.

And on the last night of his trip, he decided to do at least one touristy thing – ride the La Grande Roue de Montréal, otherwise known as the Montreal Observation Wheel. It was a wonderful way to say farewell to the city by getting a good look at the skyline.
