Megan Coyle, a local artist who makes artwork from magazine strips, will have a series of landscape, cityscape, and still life collages on display at the Goodwin House. The solo exhibit, “Paper Collage Scapes,” runs from November 9th, 2013 until January 10th, 2014. This will be the second time that she has exhibited her artwork at the Goodwin House.
The artwork that will be on display has been completed by Coyle over the years. She got her inspiration from scenes and settings in the Washington, D.C. area. Several of the collages were also previously on display at the Arts Club of Washington in a solo show that was exhibited at the beginning of 2013.
The show features a variety of scenes inspired by natural landscape as well as sights and settings around the city. Coyle enjoyed exploring different buildings in collage form, and using a mix of solid colors and textured bits and pieces of magazine strips. From the woods, to the water, to the streets, this collection showcases a vibrant selection of scenes inspired by the area.
The Goodwin House is a retirement community in Alexandria, Virginia.
