From the Studio to the Classroom

March 24th, 2011

Over the years, collage artist Megan Coyle has heard from several art teachers around the country that were using her artwork in school. Coyle decided to create a new section of her website devoted to teachers and students who study her artwork in class.

The new education section, “Learn: Collage in the Classroom” (megancoyle.com/learn), was launched the week of March 22nd, 2011. The section includes interactive lesson plans for elementary school, middle school, and high school students, as well as a “Kid’s Corner” that includes puzzles, matching games, and other activities. For teachers, there’s a section with more info on Coyle’s process, an area to share student collage work, and info on contacting Coyle.

These days it’s uncommon to find artist websites that devote sections to art education for teachers and students. Megan Coyle’s new education section is a unique addition to her online portfolio.
