And it’s done! One of these days I’ll need to revisit several of these portrait pieces to edit and prepare them for the exhibition in July. Whew, I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me!

I recently took on an internship to juggle with all my other work. Needless to say, I haven’t quite gotten a chance to work on all the art-related things I’ve wanted to work on.

Hopefully when I settle into a routine with my new work, I’ll be able to do a better job at scheduling my time. However, I’ll do my best to keep posting.

And it’s finished! I have a couple more portrait pieces that I’m going to work on before shifting gears and paying more attention to the work for my animal portraiture solo exhibition–so expect a lot more animal portraits in the future.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It’s been pretty dreary here, although today is a beautiful autumn day thus far.

I was pretty good about working on my studio art this weekend. This little owl guy is part of my mini autumn collage series.

The Arts Build Communities

Yesterday I gallery-sat at the Del Ray Artisans for their “The Arts Build Communities” exhibition. I have a couple of collages on display there, “The Guitar Man” and “A Potomac River Afternoon,” and both of them are marked Not for Sale since I might use them for my solo exhibition at the Art League Gallery in July. The exhibition opened on October 2nd and will last until the 25th.

Here are a few pictures I took of the exhibition:

I completed another mini collage for my autumn series. I’ll post this on Etsy when it’s back up from some site maintenance. I hope everyone had a great weekend – and if you have off today, I hope you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the day.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had some beautiful autumn weather in the Washington, D.C. area.

And, as far as my collage work has gone this weekend, I created another mini collage for my autumn series.

Megan’s collages, “A Potomac River Afternoon” (right) and “Guitar Man” (bottom right), were on display in the Del Ray Artisans’ “The Arts Build Communities” exhibition. Both works were not for sale since they were possible candidates for her first solo exhibition.

The exhibition focused on how art makes a positive difference in our lives, how it enriches towns, parks, schools, offices, and other communities. The show featured the work of several artists, with artwork that expressed what the arts and communities consist of, and how the two affect each other.
